Overview

There are a few reasons why a conversion may not be tracked within the platform, such as a user switching between devices before making the purchase, or a dropped cookie. When a customer reports that there has been a conversion that warrants a reward, you can search for the purchase and manually generate the conversion through the platform. 

The Manual Referral feature will allow you to:

  • Manually associate an existing Friend’s purchase with an Advocate, OR
  • Manually create a new order in Friendbuy and associate it with the Advocate.
    In both cases, once referral attribution has been established, the Advocate will then receive their reward.
Note: this feature is currently unavailable if you are rewarding your Advocates with Account Credit powered by Friendbuy. Updates coming soon.

Manually associate a conversion with an Advocate:

Instructions

Step 1

Navigate to Manual Referral under the Customer Service section

Step 2

Search for the Friend's purchase you would like to associate with an Advocate. You can search by either an Email Address or an Order ID.

Step 3

Select the relevant purchase from the results by clicking on the Select button on the right-hand side of the table.

Note: Purchases that are already associated with an Advocate cannot be selected.

Step 4

  1. Enter the advocate details you would like to associate with the selected purchase.
  2. Select the associated campaign from the drop-down menu for reward attribution. The reward details will dynamically change based on your campaign selection.
  3. Click on Associate to Advocate
Note: Fraud checks and business rules will be automatically overridden. In case you have a reward delay set up, you can check the box to override it.

Once the process is completed, you will receive the following success message:

What if I can't find the relevant purchase?

Step 1

If the relevant purchase was not found in the results, or if Friendbuy could not find records of the Order ID or email address, click on the link to Create a New Purchase

OR

Step 2

Enter the details of the purchase in the form, and click on Create Purchase

Note: If Customer ID is not available, please enter an email address instead.

Step 3

You will now see the order you've created on the main screen:

  1. Enter the advocate details you would like to associate with the selected purchase.
  2. Select the associated campaign from the drop-down menu for reward attribution. The reward details will dynamically change based on your campaign selection.
  3. Click on Associate to Advocate

Once the process is completed, you will receive the following success message:

Congratulations! You've now created a Manual Referral and successfully rewarded one of your Advocates.
