How to create a Manual Referral

Overview
There are a few reasons why a conversion may not be tracked within the platform, such as a user switching between devices before making the purchase, or a dropped cookie. When a customer reports that there has been a conversion that warrants a reward, you can search for the purchase and manually generate the conversion through the platform.
The Manual Referral feature will allow you to:
- Manually associate an existing Friend’s purchase with an Advocate, OR
- Manually create a new order in Friendbuy and associate it with the Advocate.
In both cases, once referral attribution has been established, the Advocate will then receive their reward.
Manually associate a conversion with an Advocate:
Instructions
Step 1
Navigate to Manual Referral under the Customer Service section

Step 2
Search for the Friend's purchase you would like to associate with an Advocate. You can search by either an Email Address or an Order ID.

Step 3
Select the relevant purchase from the results by clicking on the Select button on the right-hand side of the table.

Step 4
- Enter the advocate details you would like to associate with the selected purchase.
- Select the associated campaign from the drop-down menu for reward attribution. The reward details will dynamically change based on your campaign selection.
- Click on Associate to Advocate

Once the process is completed, you will receive the following success message:

What if I can't find the relevant purchase?
Step 1
If the relevant purchase was not found in the results, or if Friendbuy could not find records of the Order ID or email address, click on the link to Create a New Purchase

OR

Step 2
Enter the details of the purchase in the form, and click on Create Purchase

Step 3
You will now see the order you've created on the main screen:

Step 4
- Enter the advocate details you would like to associate with the selected purchase.
- Select the associated campaign from the drop-down menu for reward attribution. The reward details will dynamically change based on your campaign selection.
- Click on Associate to Advocate

Once the process is completed, you will receive the following success message:

Congratulations! You've now created a Manual Referral and successfully rewarded one of your Advocates.
