Merchant SDK Setup with Google Tag Manager

Samantha Brown Updated by Samantha Brown

Seamlessly integrate the Friendbuy Merchant SDK with your website through Google Tag Manager. The Merchant SDK Javascript is the minimal integration code required to integrate with Friendbuy. Additional information regarding our SDK can also be found in our developer documentation.

Instructions

In your Google Tag Manager (GTM) account confirm that the container name matches the website you will be integrating with Friendbuy. The container name setting is located in the Admin tab > Container Settings > Container name field.

On the Workspace tab, click "Add a new tag".

Select "Custom HTML" for the Tag Configuration.

Access your Friendbuy Retailer account and navigate to the Developer Center tab > Friendbuy Code page. Copy the Friendbuy integration sitewide code exactly as it appears, there are no changes necessary.

Paste the copied Friendbuy code into your GTM tag configuration HTML window. Enable the Support document.write setting and save.

Define the tag trigger, you can select All Pages as the tag trigger and any other pages necessary for your website's configuration then save the tag configuration.

The Friendbuy integration code should now be available on your website! You can verify the script is present by navigating to your website, opening the dev console on your browser (right click > inspect > elements tab) and searching for the Friendbuy merchant SDK code.

Each website configuration may vary. If you have any questions please contact our Support team support@friendbuy.com.
