Overview

The Referral Analytics Dashboard provides metrics to give marketers more insight into referral performance. These updates improve visibility into both advocate and friend engagement across the referral funnel.

Advocate Widget Views

  • Formerly labeled Widget Views
  • Displays total views
  • Tooltip: Total number of times the referral widget is loaded and viewed

Friend Widget Views

  • New metric
  • Displays total views
  • Positioned after Clicks in the referral funnel
  • Tooltip: Total number of times the friend incentive widget is loaded and viewed

Friend Email Submissions

  • New metric
  • Tracks the total number of email addresses entered into friend incentive widgets
  • Counts all attributed email entries
  • Tooltip: Total number of email addresses entered into the friend widget

Updated Referral Funnel

The new order of metrics in the dashboard referral funnel is:

  1. Advocate Widget Views (total and unique)
  2. Shares
  3. Clicks
  4. Friend Widget Views (total and unique)
  5. Friend Email Submissions
  6. Sign Ups (if tracked by merchant)
  7. Purchases
  8. Referral Revenue

FAQs

Do these new metrics replace any existing ones? No, they are in addition to existing overview metrics. Only the label Widget Views was changed to Advocate Widget Views.

Can these metrics be drilled down further? Not in this release. Drill down and segmentation may be added in future updates.

Best Practices

  • Use Advocate Widget Views and Friend Widget Views together to measure engagement across both sides of the referral flow
  • Use these insights to refine placement strategy and referral offer design
