How to Prompt a Referral After a Positive Review with Friendbuy and Trustpilot (via Klaviyo)
Leverage integrations with Klaviyo, Trustpilot and Friendbuy to provide opportunities for your customers to refer friends to your brand when they’ve provided a positive product review. Best practice is to sweeten the offer for this cohort of customers, as they are more likely to become brand Advocates!
Export a List of Customers Who Have Provided Positive Reviews on Trustpilot
- Login to your Trustpilot business account and navigate to Reviews > Product Reviews
- Filter by Star Rating and select both the Great and Excellent review ratings and click Apply.

- Click the blue Export button to export the list of customers who have provided positive reviews. A CSV should be downloaded onto your computer.
Upload Email Addresses into Klaviyo
Once the CSV has been generated in Trustpilot, determine which fields you want to be added to your Klaviyo Segment
- In your Klaviyo account, navigate to Lists & Segments
- Select Create List / Segment
- Select List since you will be uploading a CSV
- Name your list and click Create List
- Click Upload Contacts
- Drag and Drop the CSV
- Review and confirm the fields are formatted correctly in Klaviyo and click the Import Review button.
- Once you’re ready to import, click Start Import
- You’ll receive a notification from Klaviyo once your list has been successfully imported
Configure your Dedicated Refer A Friend Email in Klaviyo
- In Klaviyo, navigate to Campaigns
- Click Create Campaign
- Select Email (you can optionally send a dedicated SMS message to prompt a referral)
- Name your campaign and Select the Recipients you wish to send this email to. Then click Continue to Content.
- Configure our campaign content and select Drag and Drop
- Select a template form Klaviyo’s template library
- Design your email and include a link to your Refer A Friend Landing Page
- Review your subject line and preview text and then click Continue to Review
- Review your email settings and then click Schedule or Send
- Decide whether you want to Schedule or Send
You’re done!
