Reasons for Rejected Advocate Rewards and Friend Incentives

Overview

Whenever looking into the reporting for either your Advocate Rewards or your Friend Incentives, you may come across different rejected reasons as to why the customer was not able to receive an offer. To better understand the reasons behind the rejections, here are the definitions for each rejected reason you may come across!

Rejection Reasons and their Definitions:

Same Cookie

The Referred Friend and the Advocate have the same Profile ID, or they have the same global ID.

Same IP Address

The Referred Friend and the Advocate have the same IP address.

Same IP Address and User Agent

The Referred Friend and the Advocate have the same IP address, as well as the same User Agent (such as a browser and an operating system).

Same Email Address

The Referred Friend and the Advocate have the same email address.

Similar Email Address

A strong similarity has been detected between the email addresses of the Referred Friend and the Advocate, which will also display a corresponding "Confidence Score" out of 100, based on how similar the email addresses are.

Note: a customer's email could be related to additional email(s) if they all share the same Profile ID,
therefore, if the reward has been rejected and the Advocate's email does not seem similar at all to the friend's email, it is because the advocate has additional email addresses assigned to their profile ID, and one of them is similar to the friend's email.

Same Customer ID

The Referred Friend and the Advocate have the same Customer ID.

User is on Block List

The Advocate or the Referred Friend's email address has been placed on your Friendbuy block list.

Email Domain is on Block List

The Advocate or the Referred Friend's email address domain is on a Friendbuy maintained block list. This means the email domain (for example: @freemaillink.com) has been flagged for fraudulent activity.

Global Reward Allowance

The Advocate has exceeded the Max Reward Allowance that has been set up within the campaign or at the global account level.

Not a New Customer

The Referred Friend is not a new customer.

Minimum Purchase Amount

The Referred Friend did not meet the required purchase amount specified in the campaign settings.

SKU-Based Purchase

The Referred Friend did not purchase the required SKU specified in the campaign settings.

Not Eligible

The Referred Friend was not able to receive a Friend Incentive due to landing on the Friend Incentive widget without being referred by an Advocate.

Attribution Window Ended

The Referred Friend's conversion took place outside the attribution window of 90 days, and did not count as a qualifying conversion.
